Vertical: Telecommunications

Application: 5G application and device testing

Ecosystem:  Panasonic

Private Network: 5G

Panasonic has launched a cutting-edge private 5G network testing environment at its Customer Experience Center (CXC) in Munich, Germany. This state-of-the-art facility allows Panasonic, its customers, partners, and third-party developers to explore the benefits and applications of private 5G networks.

By partnering with 5G-as-a-Service (5GaaS) providers, Panasonic can offer fully customized private 5G network solutions deployed on-premises for enterprises across Europe. This simplifies the adoption of private 5G for organizations where traditional public networks are insufficient.

At the Munich testing hub, two 5G cells are installed, enabling testing of handovers, throughput optimization, and real-world performance of applications and Panasonic’s ruggedized Toughbook 5G laptops. Visitors can experience the high bandwidth, low latency, and advanced security features of these private networks first-hand.

Thorsten Lutz, solutions architect at Panasonic Connect Europe said, “Many organizations are looking to unlock the potential of 5G for enhanced efficiencies and connectivity but have concerns or are unsure about how to proceed. With our connectivity experience and with multiple Panasonic mobile devices already optimized for 5G, it’s a natural next step for us to offer secure, superfast private 5G networks to customers and prospects across Europe, where traditional networks or public 5G is not fit for purpose.”

The facility is also open to third-party manufacturers and developers to test and optimize their 5G applications and devices across Windows, iOS, and Android in a real-world private network environment.
