ZTE Corporation and e& UAE have successfully completed a private 5G network Proof-of-Concept trial that demonstrates the practical viability of next-generation private network infrastructure for enterprise applications in the United Arab Emirates.

The trial showcased multi-band capabilities across millimeter wave (26GHz), mid-band (4.9GHz), and low-band (700MHz) frequencies. The most notable achievement was reaching single-cell uplink speeds of up to 2.04 Gbps, addressing critical requirements for high-definition surveillance systems and real-time monitoring applications.

ZTE’s NodeEngine Edge Computing platform demonstrated plug-and-play capabilities that reduced deployment time to under one hour, without complex core network configuration. This streamlined approach addresses enterprise concerns about lengthy network deployments.

“This successful PoC trial underscores the strength of our collaboration with ZTE, combining their advanced 5G private network solutions with our expertise in enterprise digital transformation,” said Abdulrahman Al Humaidan, Acting Senior Vice President, Mobile Network, e& UAE. “Together, we are driving innovation to empower UAE enterprises with secure, scalable, and efficient connectivity solutions that accelerate their journey toward smart industries and sustainable growth.”

The Middle East and Africa region presents substantial growth opportunities, with market forecasts indicating the private network market will expand from $246 million in 2024 to $679 million by 2029, according to Omdia research. This projected growth reflects increasing enterprise demand for dedicated network solutions.

“This trial demonstrates ZTE’s readiness to deliver scalable, high-performance private network solutions, enabling enterprises to achieve greater efficiency and innovation,” stated Amer Atallah, Chief Strategy Officer for ZTE’s e& account. “ZTE and e& UAE are set to lead the development of next-generation private network infrastructure, driving growth in the UAE’s digital economy.”

Research indicates that 61% of enterprises report improved production and efficiency from private network implementations, according to Omdia’s 2025 trends analysis. The demonstrated uplink capability provides bandwidth necessary for applications such as real-time video analysis, intelligent alert systems, and comprehensive monitoring solutions across smart ports, industrial parks, healthcare facilities, and smart airports.
