HFR Mobile Deploys Private 5G Network to Enhance Construction Safety at Merck Bio Center

Construction site Private LTE and 5G

Vertical: Construction

Application: Safety monitoring, Video surveillance, Biometric tracking

Ecosystem:  HFR Mobile

Private Network: 5G

HFR Mobile has deployed a private 5G network at the Merck Bio Center construction site, bringing smart safety solutions to this high-risk environment. The project, managed by Kolon Global, demonstrates how digital technologies can enhance worker safety and operational efficiency.

Three key services operate on the network: AI-enhanced CCTV surveillance captures and analyzes high-definition video in real-time, identifying potential safety risks. A smart safety management platform monitors workers’ vital signs and environmental conditions. Smart wearable devices track worker health and safety metrics, enabling immediate response to potential hazards.

The private 5G network’s high-speed, low-latency capabilities support large-volume data transmission from multiple sources simultaneously. This enables comprehensive site monitoring and rapid response to safety incidents. The solution’s modular design allows for customization based on specific construction site requirements.

Hae-Kwan Jung, Head of Sales and Business Development at HFR Mobile, emphasized the critical nature of safety management at construction sites, noting how Private 5G enables real-time incident prevention.

The network is fully operational as of January 2025, with plans for expansion to additional construction sites. HFR Mobile’s implementation at the Merck Bio Center serves as a model for improving safety in high-risk industrial environments through digital innovation.
