Private 5G Powers Digital Evolution at Belgium’s Largest Printing Facility

Belgium Printing Company Private LTE and 5G

Vertical: Manufacturing

Application: Asset tracking, communications, safety

Ecosystem:  NTT Data

Private Network: 5G

NTT DATA has partnered with Roularta Media Group (RMG), Belgium’s premier printing company, to implement a comprehensive private 5G solution. This deployment represents a strategic move by RMG to modernize its printing operations through advanced wireless technology.

The private network installation at RMG demonstrates the growing adoption of dedicated cellular networks in industrial settings. Market analysis from Gartner suggests substantial growth in this sector, with private managed network equipment and services expected to expand from $2.2 billion in 2023 to $45 billion by 2033. NTT DATA’s position as a Visionary in Gartner’s inaugural Magic Quadrant for 4G and 5G Private Mobile Network Services highlights their expertise in enterprise network solutions.

RMG’s implementation focuses on maintaining continuous operations within their demanding printing environment. The private 5G network spans their 40,000-square-meter facility, enabling real-time asset tracking that provides instant visibility into equipment status and material locations. The network supports ruggedized push-to-talk devices, solving previous communication challenges caused by machinery interference and signal reflection issues that plagued traditional systems.

Safety and security see significant improvements through the network’s real-time monitoring capabilities, allowing for immediate incident response. Looking ahead, RMG plans to leverage this infrastructure for edge computing applications, creating new opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

This deployment illustrates how private 5G networks can address specific industrial challenges while creating a foundation for future technological advancement. The successful implementation at RMG showcases the practical benefits of private cellular networks in manufacturing environments, particularly in facilities where reliable wireless connectivity is essential for operations.
