Vertical: Healthcare

Application: Neutral Host Connectivity, mobile coverage

Ecosystem:  Celona, Clinical Mobility

Private Network: CBRS, 4G/5G

Stanford Health Care (SHC) is deploying a CBRS-based private wireless network that will also provide neutral host connectivity service with the aid of Celona and Clinical Mobility. It is the first use of Celona’s end-to-end CBRS neutral host service. The initial mobile network operator will be T-Mobile, but others are expected to sign up.

“Stanford Health Care is at the forefront of innovation, aiming to provide the best healthcare experience possible, for both our patients and our staff. In addition to providing in-building cellular signal, our vision includes using the platform to create a secure, private wireless network for core medical wireless technologies, such as clinical communication, patient monitoring and clinical video feeds,” said Christian Lindmark, chief technology officer at SHC.

The network will initially be offered over 4G/LTE in the 3.5 GHz CBRS “Innovation Band,” but will be upgradable to 5G. It will initially cover the hospital facility and adjacent medical offices. The neutral host network will connect to Celona’s Multi-Operator Exchange Network (MOXN) service.

“We are proud to collaborate with Stanford Health Care to redefine mobile experiences within healthcare,” said Rajeev Shah, Co-Founder and CEO of Celona. “Our 5G LAN solution, combined with the cloud-based MOXN technology, will reshape in-building wireless economics through shared infrastructure, ultimately advancing the future of healthcare connectivity.”
