Private Network: 5G

At the Metaverse-based Industrial Complex Advancement Project at KyungNam Techo-Park in South Korea, network equipment vendor HFR is deploying an integrated Private 5G wireless network combined with Wi-Fi 6.

This initiative focuses on creating custom Metaverse applications tailored to the aircraft manufacturing collaboration system. These applications, coupled with a robust network infrastructure, aim to enhance business platforms and foster advanced value chain collaboration within the industrial sector. The project’s primary goal is to boost productivity among member companies of the Aviation Industrial Complex by leveraging a distinct wireless infrastructure, which encompasses both Private 5G and Wi-Fi 6E networks to drive advancements in aircraft manufacturing.

Through the integration of Metaverse technology and Private 5G, HFR contributes to the establishment of a smart factory environment. This is achieved by harnessing the innovative work processes enabled by the Metaverse and digitally transforming the work environment. HFR aims for the newly constructed infrastructure for the “Metaverse-based Industrial Complex Advancement Project” to serve as a lasting cornerstone for the development of the Metaverse ecosystem within South Korea’s manufacturing industry.

“Private 5G is extremely important in the enablement of the manufacturing industry to implement Metaverse applications and an Industry 4.0 work environment to achieve drastic improvements in overall productivity. HFR, as a digital innovation partner of small and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions, will make significant contributions towards manufacturing innovation in the KyungNam Industrial Complex,” said Cho Beom-Geun, Head of HFR’s Product and Service Division.
